I'm frequently asked this very popular question. And my response is always the same: Dress like you. Choose your favorite outfits for yourself and your family. Try not to focus on matching. Instead, start with one outfit and lay it on the bed or floor. Begin to lay other outfits next to it. Add layers and accessories. Color is fantastic and photographs so well. And ultimately, everyone will be happier and more cooperative if they feel good and comfortable in what they are wearing. This includes your toddler who insists on wearing galoshes with aliens on them or mittens in July! Your pictures will be all the more sweet and memorable when they reflect your family's personality.

I always recommend dressing for the weather. Coats and hats and other fun winter layers photograph fantastically.
